At Founder’s CPA, we are privileged to work with a wide spectrum of highly impressive clients, such as Okay Inside. Welcome to our Featured Founders, where we are highlighting a diverse set of “Founders” who may not fit the stereotypical “Founder” mold set by Silicon Valley, but they all bring a unique solution to their respective markets.

In this post, we showcase our Featured Founder, Okay Inside, a company dedicated to supporting everyone with the tools they need to support their health.

Q) What does your company do?

Okay Inside is a Mental Health and Wellness app that uses therapy tools and habit tracking to improve behavior and mood.

Q) What is your mission?

Our mission is to give everyone the tools they need to support their health: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.

Q) What inspired you to start Okay Inside?  What is your “why”?

I’ve spent my whole life in Chicago, and I’ve been a psychotherapist here for twenty years. I’ve treated hundreds and hundreds of people, but I found myself constantly thinking about the thousands of people who don’t have access to a therapist, who need help but can’t get it. We’re building the app my clients asked for, something to help them between sessions. But we’re also building something bigger than that: a tool for people who want help but can’t get it, a way to help everyone feel Okay Inside.

Q) What differentiates your company from your competitors?

The big wellness apps are mostly about Meditation, but they lack tools to help you actually put what you’re learning and discovering into practice. Okay Inside helps you reinforce the changes you are making by actually tracking your progress and building new habits.
Learn healthy strategies, build strong habits, then discover new ways to grow and improve. It’s a self-reinforcing loop that drives meaningful changes. It’s not a quick fix, but it works!

Q) What are some challenges your consumers are facing right now and how does your company help?

We are in the midst of a mental health crisis. We all know it, we’re all living it. The tools to overcome this crisis already exist, but access to these tools is not evenly distributed.
Okay Inside makes improving your mental health accessible, easy, and fun.
We’ve done the research: what people need is the ability to tackle their mental health challenges in a way that fits effortlessly into their busy lives.
We say it right on our website: “Even when the world outside gets messy, you can feel okay inside.” That’s the promise we make to our users.

Q) What’s your favorite part about being an entrepreneur?

As an entrepreneurial organization, we are agile and can quickly respond to the changing demands of our clients and the healthcare environment today. I personally enjoy participating in breaking down traditional boundaries between payers and providers and creating solutions that bring us together as a community dedicated to the health and wellness of the people we serve across the country. In addition, I find great pride and enjoyment in providing opportunities to our team and giving them the tools to grow and excel.
